Information we collect
This site has no accounts or uploads, and it does not set cookies. The only form is the optional guide rating described below. Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. These logs are used only to keep the site secure and running, and are deleted on a regular schedule.
Guide ratings
If you rate a guide, we store the page, your star rating and the time on our own server. To allow one rating per visitor per guide, we also store a salted one-way hash made from your IP address and browser, never the IP address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into your address. Ratings do not use cookies. Your own rating is remembered only in your browser's local storage, so the page can show it next time; you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Share links
The share buttons on each guide are plain links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or any other social network unless you click a share link, and we do not load any social network scripts.
Photos
We never ask you to upload a photo to this site. If you follow a link to an external photo tool, that site's own privacy policy applies.
External links
Our guides link to government, university and embassy websites and to a third-party photo tool. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.
Content delivery
We may use a content delivery and security service (such as Cloudflare) to deliver this site. That provider may process technical data, such as IP addresses, to protect the site from abuse.
